Money…

“Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ” And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭17‬-‭27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Money will buy a bed, but it will not buy sleep.

Money will buy food, but it will not buy an appetite.

Money will buy medicine, but it will not buy health.

Money will buy a house, but it will not buy a home

Money will buy a diamond, but it will not buy love.

Money will buy a church pew, but it will not buy salvation.

Jesus is inviting you and I to get rid of that which stands between us and Him. Jesus is God!!!

What do you think???…

“Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, “Who do men say that I am?” So they answered, “John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭8‬:‭27‬-‭29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

WHAT THINK YE OF CHRIST?

“What think ye of Christ” is the test

To try both your state and your scheme;

You cannot be right in the rest,

Unless you think rightly of Him.

Who is Jesus to you? What will you do with The Christ, the Son of the living God???…Jesus is His name, Christ is His title. In the Hebrew, it is the Messiah, the “Anointed One.”

Begone…

“Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country. Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains. So all the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us to the swine, that we may enter them.” And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭10‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Rabbi, begone! Thy powers

Bring loss to us and ours.

Our ways are not as Thine,

Thou lovest men, we—swine.

Oh, get Thee hence, Omnipotence!

And take this fool of Thine!

His soul? What care we for his soul?

What good to us that Thou has made him whole?

Since we have lost our swine.

And Christ went sadly,

He had wrought for them a sign

Of love and hope and tenderness divine—They wanted swine.

Christ stands without your door and gently knocks,

But if your gold or swine the entrance blocks,

He forces no man’s hold—He will depart

And leave you to the treasures of your heart.

No cumbered chamber will the Master share, but one swept bare

By the cleansing fires, then plenished fresh and fair

With meekness and humility and prayer.

There He will come, yet coming, even there

He stands and waits and will no entrance win

Until the latch be lifted from within. Joseph H Odell.

New neighbors appeared just as I was cooking our dinner. Awkward, for a moment, as we had rib eyes on the grill…

The storms of Life…

“As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭35‬-‭41‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus, Savior, pilot me

Over life’s tempestuous sea:

Unknown waves before me roll,

Hiding rocks and treach’rous shoal;

Chart and compass come from Thee—-

Jesus, Savior, pilot me!—-Edward Hooper.

Hurricane Ian, day 31…

“The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.” Mark 1: 1-3

Three beginnings in the Bible- “In the beginning was the Word” John 1:1, is the first. The second is, “In the beginning God created the heaven and earth” Gen. 1:1. The third is, “The beginning of the Gospel…” Jesus Christ is the gospel!

Another day of delays. We arrived in Ozona Texas after a long day of sitting in traffic, about 486 miles…

Hurricane Ian, day 30…

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

We go from 84 to 34 degrees in a day…Yes, the pan handle of Florida is cold…
Yikes…
Our speed was more like zero. Almost an hour we moved very slowly. I really enjoyed the company though…
Works for me…Only 431 miles today, Pensacola Florida to Winne Texas…

Hurricane Ian, day 29…

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Once you get north of Tampa on I75, the road gets a little hilly and forests appear on both sides of the highway.

We left Fort Meyers at 0525 and with a time change, stopping on the west side of Pensacola around 1430….It is cold here, 32 degrees tomorrow morning! We are used a low of around 70…

Please keep all of the victims of the hurricane in your prayers…

Thanks…

He who has been forgiven much, ought to love much (see Luke 7:47). We ought to be like that lamb with the broken leg that just nuzzles the shepherd and stays close to the shepherd so that He might lead it and guide it so that it will never go astray again.

When are we going to learn? How many times are we going to slip and fall before we learn to stay close to the Good Shepherd? Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27). Adrian Rogers.

“This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.”

“St. Peter’s saying to Cornelius has been well noticed as a fit motto for this gospel: ‘God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power; who went about doing good and healing all those who were oppressed of the devil.’” Bernard.

I read in a book where a man called Christ went about doing good. It is very disconcerting to me that I am so easily satisfied with just going about.

Mark just starting on this new house. The darkline on the wall is how high the water rose to. This house was virtually untouched since the hurricane…

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”

The other half of the rainbow. You just have to pause and praise God!!!
The road to our job site…
This was a large house that had their drywall removed by their youth group from church. They did a good job, but missed the sneaky areas where drywall hangs out and produces mold. We took all those areas out…

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Hurricane Ian, day 16…

Hello Norma and Dave, just wanted to reach out and send you a note to say thank you, thank you!!  The guys from your outfit came out to our home to help David and boy did they do a great job.  We felt so blessed by you two and are very grateful that God used you to bless us with our tree problems.

David took the whole crew out to lunch, which was the least we could do. Please let us know if there are any prayers, we can offer up for you and yours. If we don’t hear from you, have a good trip home back to Arizona and a wonderful Thanksgiving. Once again, thank you for opening your hearts to us and Norma, I can still feel your hug. 😇

We got the above note from a homeowner that we assessed a few weeks back…

We started a new home today and the owner asked if we could save her marble countertop, if at all possible. Well, anything is possible with Team Arizona…
Secure and safe. Thanks to Bob, Mark, Dennis, Terry, and Mark…

We took Norm with us today as we needed a Chaplain to minister to the homeowner. She did a great job…

Fort Myers Beach…
This series of photos are all from the beach area…
Many homes and the church Norm worked out of are condemned. Under this house is another house! The one you see came from somewhere and landed on it!!!
Our final debris pile…
This is the house we worked on yesterday. Finished as best we could, a new house tomorrow…

“Although the fig tree shall not blossom, Neither shall fruit be in the vines; The labour of the olive shall fail, And the fields shall yield no meat; The flock shall be cut off from the fold, And there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, And he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, And he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.”
‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬-‭19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Hurricane Ian, day 14…

Great time worshiping this morning..
Even though it is Sunday, the mold never rests. Yesterday I picked up our mud-out team and today after service we hit the ground running. Joining a Texas team that started this house two days ago we all got after it…
Bob working in a closet…
Fran working in what used to be the kitchen…
Kathy pulling nails…
Mark and a fella from the Texas team cleared this entire garage and removed the damaged overhead door…
We are running out of space for debris!!!

“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭

Hurricane Ian, day 13…

“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”
‭‭Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬ ‭
I didn’t go out today. I worked for the feeding unit, so I thought I would show where we are based. McGregor Baptist Church.
We are ramping up here, in two days we will have 96 servants for the Lord. This tent is for the men…
The Sanctuary…
135 acre’s in all…
Some of our equipment…

Hurricane Ian, day 12…

Norm has been working with other Chaplains serving at Beach Church, Fort Myers Beach. They are praying and helping the residents cope with this disaster. When she gets a moment, she finds some nice shells…
This guy was hanging around the feeding unit this morning…
This my new job. I went out for two days with my adopted mud out team from Tennessee. They took really good care of me. But I was needed in the kitchen, so I stored my recovery tools and strapped on an apron…
With the White Hat himself overseeing this operation. I used the AZDR truck to recover this errant forklift that got stuck in the grass…

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭28‬-‭31‬ ‭

Hurricane Ian, day 11…

We had to cut 8 foot of drywall in this garage…
The side and back yard of the house we are working on….
This guy has been freaking out our team for two days now. He goes with that weird clown from day 9…
Green mold…
This is Deb and Pippi…
I worked all afternoon trying to get this cabinet out…

“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?”
‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Ft Myers Beach…

Hard to believe the destruction that came from here…
Best shot I could get…

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭

Hurricane Ian, day 10

A must have item for today’s disaster relief…
In the neighborhood where I worked today. Norm went off to Ft Myers Beach with a group of other Chaplains and did a lot of ministry..
This is my adopted team from Tennessee. They are all from the same church and here with their Pastor…
In our chow tent…
The closer to ground zero, the less animals we encounter…
I am not sure I am happy about this freaky looking clown surviving…?

“looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭

Hurricane Ian, day 8…

Therefore David blessed the LORD in the presence of all the assembly. And David said: “Blessed are you, O LORD, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.”

1Chronicles 29: 10-13

We voted!!!
Norm and her fowl…
Kudos to a team from South Carolina, they pulled this giant stump out of the way so this very nice 82 year old lady can get her well flowing again…
Swampland! Thinking this might be a bargain…
This kitty has good taste in trucks.
This little guy is Chico…
Norm and this horse fell in love with each other. I had to do her job because this gal really took a shine to her. We have had some great animal experiences here in Venice…
My room is full again as they have ramped this site back up…

Hurricane Ian, day 7…

Sunday school is always a good way to start your worship…
This church has a pipe organ. We were told that Billy Graham preached his very first sermon in this building!!!
A win for the good guys!!!
FBC Venice Florida…
We took some R&R today and headed to the beach. Last time we were at the Gulf of Mexico was 2017, in the panhandle.
Norm and her feathered friends…
The best part of the beach is when you close your eyes and listen to the sound of the water…
One night I dreamed a dream. I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.
When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.
“Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I’m aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don’t understand why, when I need You most, You leave me.”
He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Gal. 3:28

Hurricane Ian, day 6…

My room is pretty empty as my five other mates left this morning…
This has been our work station since last Sunday. Phone calls in the morning and paperwork in the evening. In between many wonderful people, many sad stories and many prayers…
After encountering Clyde the Gopher Turtle yesterday, it was another animal day. This is Marty, a rescue dog. She likes me…
Not sure what this thing is, but he sure had Norm on edge…
Yikes!!!
The homeowner told us the hurricane blew his potted plant from the ground to the roof…
We had dinner out at a local BBQ place and a nice couple bought our dinner and never told us. Thank you both for such a nice treat…

“I thank God that when the Rapture takes place, every believer is going out. And we won’t be going on the basis of merit. All of us will be leaving because of the grace of God. He saves us by grace; He keeps us by grace; He will take us out of this world by grace; and when we have been there for ten million years, it will be by the grace of God.” Dr. J Vernon McGee.

Hurricane Ian, day 5…

Giving the love of God to Miss Charlene…
Norm preparing our lunch in the Publix’s parking lot. We sat on the curb in the shade and enjoyed…
These next series of photos are from North Port, a town south of Venice…
Sandbags are normally used on tile roofs…
Norm wanted to wait and see how this scrapper dude was going to get that metal out of the tree? We didn’t…
I think this fella was named Clyde…

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭

Heard this today- “If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.”

Hurricane Ian, day 4…

There are a lot of trees in Florida
Hello Chaplain…
“Sons of arthritis- ibuprofen chapter”
Notice the list of that tree in the background…

“For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord (Matt. 23:39)”

An update on our ministry work, 35 assessments, 27 Chaplain contacts and prayers, 37 hours invested. 13 different states represented, guessing around 100 volunteers for Christ…Thanks for your prayers…

Hurricane Ian, day 3…

This is how you park when your teammate drags you from job to job, and schedules appointments back to back with no time to answer the call of nature. After looking back, I thought maybe I should have put the hazard lights on…
Norm in the jungle. Venice has some really unique trees…

“Then the Lord asked him, “What is that in your hand?” “A shepherd’s staff,” Moses replied. “Throw it down on the ground,” the Lord told him. So Moses threw down the staff, and it turned into a snake! Moses jumped back.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NLT

Our devotional this morning, the White Hat (the man in charge) asked how many times do you hold something dead in your hand? We hold dead things in our hands for too long. Throw it down and God will make it come alive, bring a dead man to life. Throw it down…

Hurricane Ian, day 2…

Mobile homes took the worst of the storm..
Norm and a homeowner looking for gators in the pond across the road…
The roof was torn apart in this home. Big job…
We are packed to the gills now, standing room only inside the dining hall…

“I wanted to say thank you for reaching out to me and for all you guys are doing for this community. I cannot imagine how many people have been reached for Christ, and have seen a glimpse of his love because of people like you and your husband. Sometimes it takes a hurricane to wake us up to the love of God.”

The above statement came from a homeowner that we couldn’t help. This gives us strength…

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light “ (1 Pet. 2:9)

That’s us, “holy nation” the church. If you are a believer, a child of the living God, the Lord Jesus YOU are THE church…

On the Job…

Wonder which sleep area is Norm’s???
All of theses people love the Lord…

“Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many (Matt. 20:28).”

Every Christian should memorize this verse, keep it close to your heart. When the opportunity comes to witness, you can tell why Jesus came into this world and what His mission was…

Venice Florida…

Our welcome to central Florida was gridlock for miles and miles on I75…
Two nice looking rigs…
Venice Florida sunset. This area is a sea of gold shirts. More than twelve states are on site, well over a 100 men and women wanting to serve the Lord…

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible (Matt. 19:26).”

Anybody, regardless of who you are- can have salvation if you recognize that you have nothing to offer to God, come with empty hands, come to Him as beggar. Come like that and He can save you. With God all things are possible…

Still in Texas…

Maybe tomorrow we will enter a new state, but for now, this was our Texas sunrise. You just have to look past all of the bugs that met their demise on our truck windshield…
This is just crazy! Makes a fella just want to sit down and cry…

“And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only (Matt. 17:8).”

JESUS ONLY! He is the One who is the authority! Jesus only, a good motto for us all…

Fort Stockton Texas…

We were in the truck and on our way by 0500. 744.9 miles later, we are resting comfortably in Fort Stockton.

“He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God (Matt. 16:15-16)

‘Thou art the Christ,” the Messiah, the Anointed One, the One who was predicted in the Old Testament- the Son of the living God- This is who Jesus is!!!

Finished in Flagstaff, (for now)…

This is Alan and Brenda from Flagstaff. Long time Disaster Relief volunteers, they stopped by to give us a hand, sifting through the rubble…
DR Patty adds to the growing finds from the home…
Norm, in her happy place. Searching for something of value to the property owners. She did really well today, finding a prized necklace…
Necklace find…
I hesitate to display this photo. This comes from the inside of a nose, that has been in the confines of a state of the art N95 mask! If you still wear a mask, thinking you are safe, here’s your proof. N equals one experiment. If this mask cannot keep ash from you, it’s not keeping a much smaller particle illness from you…

Return to Flagstaff…

We slapped our magnetic signs on the truck and made our way back to Flagstaff. Back to FBC Flagstaff. Back to dusty, dirty work of ash out recovery. Back to service for the Lord.
We started early afternoon, worked for a couple of hours. We found quite a lot of items for such a short time.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we could not search this property on our first trip to the Tunnel Fire.

Tunnel Fire- Final Entry…

Thanks to DR Sue for snapping this shot of me, operating the skid steer, trying to move one of four heavy bath tubs…
Not sure if this was the result of my driving, but the track came off and put the machine out of service for about a half day…
Warm day, we kept chasing the shade…
Our state director, Patty shares a light moment with Ray, our liaison from Coconino County. Ray has been the best government worker ever…
It was our pleasure to serve the Lord…

Tunnel Fire, Day 12…

Our team made these pile of metal, from just one property…
Everyone is hard working…
You can’t tell from this photo, but this is pure dust, about six inches deep and every time the skid steer drove over it, it created a dust storm…
We used wheel barrows to load this much…
DR Mike, takes a well deserved break…
It’s not all work, sometimes you just have to enjoy a cool beverage…
DR Dennis and DR Mike do ministry with the property owner…
Before AZDR and…
After AZDR, we worked almost two full days and a few hours tomorrow will complete the property…

Tunnel Fire Day 9…

No assessments for us today. We have a few more to look at, but we can’t get in contact with the property owners. So, we tackled this house…
This is the after site…
We made this. Norm and I had to move this tin roof by hand to get to the area where we needed to sift. Norm already found gold, silver and coins. More sifting of this home tomorrow…
Wednesday night Bible study at FSBC Flagstaff led by Pastor Jim..,

Tunnel Fire…Day 8…

We don’t always work, sometimes we have to refuel…
It is very pretty here…
This will be a big job us…
This fire has been especially tough on vintage, classic cars. This was a fully restored 1966 Mustang coupe…
Devotional and prayer morning and evening, recharges us and keeps us focused on God…
The Fire recovery team clean and ready to seize the day…
Our neighbors next to the church…
Babies, dogs, and kids, I knew that they all love me. Now, it seems that I can horses to that list. Who knew??? My new friend, Joe the huge horse…
Something else I didn’t know, was how happy I could make Norm by getting these pencils! Husbands, take notice…

Tunnel Fire Day 6…

Yesterday we had the blessing of attending church service here at FSBC Flagstaff. This is a fantastic church that prayed for us numerous times yesterday.
Norm, doing what Norm does…
The quiet time of any call out- chow time…
This was a family home of 33 years…
Mr. Wells is holding up the remains of his 2001 Plymouth Prowler, built with an aluminum chassis. This family lost their house, the oldest pole barn in Arizona, several classic cars and a few motorcycles. Mr. Wells is retired military and a Vietnam Veteran. It was a pleasure to meet and talk with him…

Tunnel Fire- Flagstaff Arizona…

The start of our mission trip to serve the property owners in Flagstaff…
This was our almost base camp, but we got word to move to First Southern Baptist Church Flagstaff. Just a half mile up the road, Pastor Jim welcomed us with open arms. We attended a great Bible study our first evening…
The start of our service…
Norm, on the job…
Norm working…
Hoarder house…

A Lesson…

“If religious books are not circulated among the masses and the people do not return to God, I do not know what is to become of us as a nation. If truth be not diffused, error will be. If God and His Word are not received, the devil and his works will gain the ascendency. If the evangelical volume does not reach every hamlet, the pages of a corrupt and licentious literature will. If the power of the Gospel is not felt through the length and the breadth of the land, anarchy, misrule, degradation, misery, corruption, and darkness will reign without mitigation or end.” Daniel Webster…

“The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of the truth that God governs in the affairs of men.” Benjamin Franklin…

Why did He die?

The answer is found in Psalm 22:1, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?…” Our Lord Jesus spoke these words as He hung on the cross. Psalm 22:3 has the answer, “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” God is holy, God is righteous. Christ died on that cross because you and I are sinners! “Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by?” (Verse 12). God abandoned Him, but God will never abandon you as long as you live. Jesus died so all who believe in Him will have eternal life…..

Is it nothing to you?

Jehovah-Tsidkenu, the Lord our Righteousness…

I oft read with pleasure, to soothe or engage, Isaiah’s wild measure, or John’s simple page: But e’en when they pictured the blood—sprinkled tree, Jehovah-Tsidkenu was nothing to me. Like tears from the daughters of Zion that roll, I wept when the waters went over His soul; Yet thought not that my sins had nailed to the tree Jehovah Tsidkenu: ‘t was nothing to me. When free grace awoke me by light from on high, Then legal fears shook me— I trembled to die. No refuge, no safety in self could I see; Jehovah Tsidkenu my savior must be. My terrors all vanished before that sweet name; My guilty fears banished, with boldness I came, To drink at the fountain, life-giving and free; Jehovah Tsidkenu is all things to me. McCheyne.
