Chapter 4- Ruth, a stranger came all the way from the land of Moab and walked straight into the heart of Boaz. We have come from a strange place to the heart of Christ and we have a love story like Ruth and Boaz have. Everything in this chapter is designed by God the HolyContinue reading “Book of Ruth 7…”

Study of Ruth part 6….
Vs. 9. This is one of those tender moments from a movie that both guys and gals can enjoy. A great verse of love in the Word of God. Ruth is saying, “I want you as my kinsman-redeemer, and I want to tell you so.” If you are a guy you can see and feelContinue reading “Study of Ruth part 6….”
Study of Ruth part 5….
Chap. 3 vs. 2. Here is what Naomi is telling Ruth, “This man Boaz is your kinsman-redeemer. You have a right to claim him. In fact, Ruth, you must claim him as your kinsman-redeemer. I want you to go up to the threshing floor tonight and let him know.” Vs. 3. This is a greatContinue reading “Study of Ruth part 5….”
Study of Ruth, part 4…
Vs. 17. Boaz made it possible for Ruth to glean, but she was diligent in her work. This is something all Christians should have. “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. (Rom. 12:11). Ruth was a women of faith, but also was found faithful in every task. “True faith produces faithfulness.” “FaithContinue reading “Study of Ruth, part 4…”
Why are we in Oklahoma???
That first little green blur is our grandson racing with the ball to score at his in-door soccer game. We never even knew that kids played soccer inside. I think he scored 4 goals his team and 2 for the other team. He is the fastest little guy on the team.
Sunday School…Book of Ruth…part 3….
Chap. 2. 1. We are now introduced to the hero of our story, Boaz. The name Boaz means “strength.” Boaz is immediately identified as a kinsman (which is important to note) of Naomi’s husband. A mighty man of Law can also be translated a mighty man of war. He was a mighty man of wealth,Continue reading “Sunday School…Book of Ruth…part 3….”
Sunday School…Book of Ruth…part 2…
Vs. 10. Their first decision is to go with Naomi. Vs.11. This was strange, but the Mosaic Law said that when a man died, the nearest of kin was to marry his wife, and if there were a brother he was the one to marry her. Naomi lays it out for her girls, if youContinue reading “Sunday School…Book of Ruth…part 2…”
Sunday School, the Book of Ruth…part 1…
Vs. 1, This verse starts to tell us one of the saddest family stories contained in the Bible. “Now it came to pass” means because God brought it to pass. Rom. 11:36. “When the Judges ruled” The book of Judges tells a sorry and sordid story of a departure from God. The people served the livingContinue reading “Sunday School, the Book of Ruth…part 1…”

Much at Stake….John MacArthur
“If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” – Matthew 4:3 Before Satan tempted Jesus more directly, he threw out a cynical challenge to test Christ’s deity. The devil’s conditional statement, “If You are the Son of God,” assumed that Jesus was indeed God’s beloved Son (3:17). But he hoped toContinue reading “Much at Stake….John MacArthur”

An open letter to the President of the United States from Dr. Michael Youssef.
Dear Mr. Obama, From the time you declared your candidacy for president of the United States and announced under your breath that you are a Christian, many true, Bible-believing Christians immediately had doubts about your muffled profession of faith. After all, for 20 years you drank deeply from the well of Rev. Jeremiah WrightContinue reading “An open letter to the President of the United States from Dr. Michael Youssef.”
A Man gift for Christmas…
Merry Christmas, we must…
Matthew 2:1-12, We must look willingly for the King of the Jews, we must search carefully for Him, we must hope expectantly for Him, and we must change radically for Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
this is why we say “MERRY CHRISTMAS!”
Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that weContinue reading “this is why we say “MERRY CHRISTMAS!””
Post Number 400…
I thought I would write something very profound and of some meaning for this, the four hundredth post. After spending much thought, it just didn’t happen, so I will post some more pictures.
O Happy Day…

Finally, we go riding!!!
Weird Day…
There are not too many days in our life where I make a batch of cookies for our youth Christmas party tonight and it hails in the desert. Thanks to our daughter-in-law’s sister, Aimee, for the inspiration of the cookies.
Honored….
On Sunday we were given special recognition for our part (little part) in helping build the Vietnamese Baptist church of Phoenix. Many people on the stage performed long hard hours of work, quite a few of them were Arizona Baptist Builders volunteers. It was great to see so many from our fellowship in Wickenburg attend this specialContinue reading “Honored….”
Vietnamese Christian Baptist Church of Phoenix…
Today we were blessed to be a part of the first service in the new building that Norm and I had a small part in constructing.
Dog Sitters…
Another job title we can claim. Our rates are reasonable, we are honest, we will eat your food, and yes, we will spoil your dog.

Norm and Mickey…
We worked the snack shack for two days at the high school rodeo and it seems we did a pretty good job, at least that is what we were told. I think these two had a lot to do with our success.
The Rodeo Zamboni…
This is our friend Josh, his daughter Bailey rides and competes (and wins) in high school rodeo. It seems to us that Josh must be pretty high up in the rodeo pecking order as he gets to do cool things like smooth the arena with this jiggy tractor. Norm and I watched for a whileContinue reading “The Rodeo Zamboni…”

At Long Last, some Hope…
After two times in the past six months of returning to the ‘Star Wars’ boot, telling friends that she was trying to start a new fashion item, the boot is in the shed (more funky than ever) and the strap has returned. The foot Doctor has brought a new treatment to bear on Norm’s tendon, some sort of electro-magnetic pulse weapon that sounds like a jack-hammer at work on her foot. Although it hurt pretty good, Norm says it feels better. Now if she will just follow the directions and lay low until all the pounding therapy is over.

The Bionic Man or Pop…
My father in law, Paul, is fast becoming the ‘six million man’ with the latest addition of a second artificial hip giving him a total of three man made joints! On his way to therapy, Paul out raced everyone to the exercise room and thanks to my mother in law he put in more reps then anyone in his class. The joint replacement that goes on at Boswell Hospital is truly amazing. We were told today that they see 100 new joints every month and the staff is quite good at it.

Say, ‘Hairy Cheese-burger’…
My Mom, along with another senior member of my family, cannot seem to grasp the concept of photography. I say, “Stand over there and let me take your picture.” This should start an involuntary process that results in some sort of grin, or better yet a smile. But, no, not a chance. I guess IContinue reading “Say, ‘Hairy Cheese-burger’…”

The Return of the ‘Star War’s’ Boot…
Sometime toward the end of September, Dr. Norm declared her heel healed. She started walking without the small wrap and would not go to the eight week date (Oct. 6) her real Doctor ordered. Long story short, exposed as a quack for self diagnosis, Norm is back in the boot.
Noah Webster says…
“The moral principles and precepts contained in the scriptures ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws. All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery, and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible.”
An RV in a Wal-Mart parking lot…
We have a love-hate relationship with Wal-Mart. We like the store, but getting in and out in a timely manner, is most of the time, not possible. Without fail, check out lanes are scarce. Those same stores in small towns are no lines, no waiting. Although we have never spent the night in a Wal-MartContinue reading “An RV in a Wal-Mart parking lot…”

Warren, our Blue Hat…
Warren and I have trained a lot together, but this is our first time on a real call-out. We had a great time working and fellow-shipping with all the guys. Warren is a prison chaplain so he was always asking to pray for the homeowners and seeking those that were hurt and searching for meaningContinue reading “Warren, our Blue Hat…”
The Road to home…is where it sits…
Home is kind of a misnomer. Our home is wherever we park it, this trip is a solo run from Oklahoma City Oklahoma to Minot North Dakota and return to Oak city. The route up was, on one hand terrific, seeing areas where I had yet to travel, but I traveled on too many roads thatContinue reading “The Road to home…is where it sits…”

Eldon and I have worked together on 2 call outs so far this year, and we still have a few months remaining. He is great to be around when you are working for the Lord. Eldon has a quiet way to show the love of Christ, and he takes very good photos, lots of them!Continue reading “Eldon…”
Yikes…
I noticed to late that I had grabbed the wrong hat. This is really Norm’s hat and I didn’t quite know how to break the news about jacking her hat up, so I thought I would just put the information here. I hope she doesn’t read it for a while.
What if???
I heard this recently, a question, ‘What if you had to come back as another person, who would that person be?’ I would want to come back as Norm’s second husband.
Here’s Richard…

Here’s Ed…
This is Ed, a Pastor from Bisbee on his second call out with me. I first met Ed in Sierra Vista working the fires there and took an instant liking to him. I really like his down home style and can’t wait to visit his church to hear him preach someday. Ed gave the morningContinue reading “Here’s Ed…”
Sunday…
In the midst of the rebuilding of homes, the debris piles, and all the new FEMA trailers, I saw this. I read today that we are either in the valley for repose or reflection or we are on the top of the mountain for discovery and strength.
Welcome to Minot…
This is how I have felt since hitting the ground running in this thriving town. Our team has hit the good homes of Minot with our pressure washer and sprayers washing and spraying every house we have been assigned (all but one really). Things have really been looking up on this trip compared to myContinue reading “Welcome to Minot…”
